The ASEAN Research Center (ARC) at the Asia School of Business (ASB) in partnership with UNHCR Malaysia, the UN Refugee Agency, will convene the sixth Research Conference on Refugee Studies and Forced Displacement (REFCON 2026).

Organised annually in conjunction with World Refugee Day, this 3-day conference serves as a platform to highlight and examine global developments in refugee rights and forced migration, with an added focus in 2026 on the situation of stateless persons.

The conference seeks to bridge academic work with real-world impact through interactive sessions, including academic paper and poster presentations, as well as a refugee entrepreneur bazaar. It will cover a broad spectrum of themes, which include but are not limited to those listed here.

These efforts aim to promote meaningful knowledge exchange among scholars, policymakers, civil society groups, refugee communities, and the wider public.

The full conference agenda will be announced in April 2026.
