Judih Weinstein Haggi

It is with deep sorrow and a broken heart that I tell you that Judih Haggi was pronounced murdered today by Hamas on October 7th.  We were all holding out that she would be returned as a hostage.  Judih was a REED teacher for as long as REED has been - over 40 years.  She taught the "bouncy" special ed students, with her calm, grace, smile and hug.  She saw the students who were sometimes missed and she loved them with all her heart.  She ran the Sadna (a wonderful English space) with her creativity and warmth.  She was the first person to welcome me to Maale Habsor when I had my first interview there in 2000.  My first hug.  

Judih, I will miss you more than words.  I am sharing your ClassRelax with everyone so they can keep your legacy alive. I promise to do that.

What shocking news. 

Judih - a role model for all educators working with students with special needs. Judih - in her quiet, calm, professional manner touched so many young pupils giving them the support that they needed and will be remembered by many for the person she was. So so so sad. My condolences to the family, to her friends and colleagues, to all those who she touched with her magic. 

RIP Havera Yekara.

Update:  On June 5, 2025 Judih and her husband Gadi's bodies were rescued and returned  to Israel for burial.  A huge thanks to our brave soldiers who are heroes for risking it all to bring them home.  May Judih and Gadi finally rest in peace at home in Nir Oz.  - Judie
