Redpoint Rally relies on volunteers and staff to help create a safe, organized, and positive competition experience. Thank you to everyone who supports this event.
Below is an overview of the volunteer roles needed and how to get involved.
Belayers
Belayers manage safe and consistent top rope belays during the competition. Belayers will maintain a safe, loose belay to ensure climbers are climbing independently without assistance from the rope. Belayers may be scheduled for specific heats, though full day availability is appreciated. Belayers must be belay checked prior to the day of the event and must have a current Logan Health Fitness Center Climbing Wall Belay Card.
Judges
Judges are responsible for confirming attempts, zones, and tops and for ensuring scoring is applied consistently. Judges should be comfortable observing climbers, making clear calls, and communicating with climbers and scorekeepers. Full day availability is preferred for judging roles to maintain scoring consistency.
Check In and Scoring
Volunteers in this role assist with competitor check in, scorecard distribution, score tracking, and results verification. Attention to detail and the ability to stay organized throughout the event are important. Full day availability is strongly preferred for this role.
Some volunteer roles may be scheduled by heat, while others require full day participation. Final assignments and call times will be communicated prior to the event.
All volunteers and staff will need to attend the preheat briefing for the heat(s) that they are volunteering for.
