Fishing Report
This is the 5th trip for Shotaro san coming to Malaysia. He loves the fishing and the food, and this is his lucky trip to land a personal record toman.
This is the first time Hiroshi san goes overseas for fishing, and he enjoy it. He caught about 7~ 8 toman this time, countless of peacockbass and some other species too.
A 6.4kg toman, Shotaro san's PR
I would say we were searching for this fish for the past 5 years. A PR (personal record) fish never comes easy, especially when Shotaro san is a raigyo angler that insist never casting on the fries (baby toman) and 99.9% of the time he will only use topwater lure such as buzzbait.
Shotaro san was so happy, I share the joy as much as him.
Peacockbass
We had a "fun fishing" session on the next day and caught a lot of "peacock chan" (small peacock) using mainly minnows and soft plastic.
Mayan Cichlid
Mayan ciclid is also a greedy feeder on lures, they bite and fight differently from peacock, after a while, an angler might knows what fish is on the line by the bite and fight pattern.
"Jelawat"
It looks like a carp but often bite lures. Hiroshi san was lucky to have one on his minnow, that makes him having 4 species on the list for the trip.
Double Lucky
We got double lucky this time to land another beautiful good size toman on the 3rd day. This fish has metallic green patterns and big tail fin.
Metallic Toman
Metallic toman always attractive, we believed this to be a pairing colouration but for this fish we didn't see any fries around. Shotaro san was very concerned about this, Raigyo anglers never feel pride to land a mama fish with babies.
Food is alway an important thing when you travel, this roasted duck and curry grouper fish head are one of the best we enjoyed for the trip.
"Wan Tan Mee", always the best brakefast before we start a day. They loved to have Coke for brakefast.
Famous dish at the near by town, "Clay Pot Chicken RIce". They don't like the chicken feet, Japanese find it not so pleasant because of the appearance (But they each of them still take at least a pieces).
We miss out the big head freshwater prawn this time, too many food to try. Maybe they shall come again, for the two "F", Fishing & Food.
Unforgetable
Big fish + happy face, this is a memorable trip for everyone.
Fishing Buddies
The joy of a trip can be double up when shared with a good partner. Hope to see you guys again!!
