“At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees water boils” (Parker & Anderson, 2016, p. 1). How do we turn-up the heat (even by one degree) to engage the learners in our classroom? I am constantly looking for new ways to get students ‘fired-up’ about learning! Researchers have found that students' learning increases when students are engaged (Pino-James, 2015; Poth, 2017; Reardon, 2018). In my classroom, I use a lot of wonderful FREE tools to engage students. I use digital scavenger hunts (FlipHunts and GooseChase), and I connect students to others using GridPals and MysterySkype.
