What are GridPals?

GridPals are similar to pen-pals, but the students use video posts in FlipGrid to correspond. Educators can be CoPilots so classrooms can connect around the world. This year we were GridPals with German High School students. The students took our Dot STEM adventures on adventures with their German Gnomes. Here is an example of a post from a German High School student. It was cool because the German students used captions to help our second grade students learn a new language. My second graders were GridPals with younger students too! I saw an increase in the quality of my students' work because my students knew that someone else was going to be looking at it.
