Kunekunes are a breed of pig originally from New Zealand and first imported to the US in 1996. Primarily raised on pasture, they are a smaller breed and are easily kept on a variety of farms.
Kunekunes have short upturned snouts that tend to make them less prone to rooting. They are docile and love human interaction. Kunekunes are not likely to roam or test fencing.
The kunekune pork is a well-marbled pork that is proving to be a favorite of chefs.
We raise a variety of Registered Kunekune bloodlines: Momona, Awakino, Wilson's Gina, Tapeka, Aria Giana and Jenny are our Sow lines. Boris, Ru, Mahia Love, Tutanekai and Andrew are our Boar lines. Our farm provides pigs for Breeders, pets and meat. We are focused on preserving the Kunekune breed which means we cull pigs that show less than the standard of perfection for the breed. Those pigs are moved on to other farms as pets or to grow out for meat.
