What Are Usage Rights?

Usage rights define how, where, and for how long you are legally allowed to use the video content we create for you. This is standard in professional video production, particularly for promotional or commercial content.

Usage rights apply only to promotional and commercial projects. Entertainment projects (music videos, short films, etc.) typically do not require usage limitations unless specified.

Included Usage Rights

90-Day Usage Rights – INCLUDED

All promotional packages include 90 days of usage at no additional cost.

This covers:

• Social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook)

• Websites and landing pages

• Paid or organic marketing posts

• In-store or event displays

This means you can freely publish, post, and promote your video for 90 days after final delivery.

Extended Usage Rights

180-Day Usage Rights – +50% of Base Package Rate

Need to use your video for longer? You can upgrade your license.

Example:

• For a $200 package, 180-day usage = +$100

• For a $1,190 package, 180-day usage = +$595

This extension allows continued use across all the same platforms for an additional 90 days.

Full Buyout (Unlimited Use)

Full Rights Buyout – Custom Pricing

If you want full ownership and unlimited use of the video forever, a full buyout can be arranged.

A full buyout includes:

• Unlimited time usage

• Unlimited platforms

• No renewal required

• Commercial rights for ads, campaigns, and long-term branding

Full buyouts are quoted based on:

• Project scope

• Budget

• Intended distribution

• Long-term usage plans

Raw Footage Rights

Raw (unedited) footage is separate from finished video usage.

Raw Footage – +50% of Base Package Rate

Raw footage includes everything recorded during your shoot.

Clients who purchase raw footage may:

• Use clips for social media

• Re-edit the footage themselves or hire another editor

• Archive footage for future use

Without purchasing the raw footage add-on, raw files remain the property of Red Bear Studios.

Music, Graphics & Third-Party Licensing

Any third-party elements used in your project (such as music tracks, stock footage, or graphics) may have their own licensing terms.

We ensure that all third-party assets used

• Are properly licensed

• Are cleared for the platforms you intend to use

• Are safe for commercial use

If additional licensing fees apply, they will be disclosed upfront.

Client Restrictions

To protect both our clients and our studio, the following restrictions apply unless a full buyout is purchased:

• Videos may not be resold or sublicensed

• Videos may not be used outside the licensed time period

• Raw footage cannot be distributed or edited without the raw footage add-on

These safeguards ensure compliance with copyright law and third-party licensing.
