Watch printing techniques video. Students will try various printmaking techniques.
Fold drawing paper into 6 sections. Try a different technique in each section. Continue in lesson 2.
Texture rubbing - leaf

Relief - foam (or styrofoam)
Collagraph - cardboard or foam or fruit web foam etc.
Monoprint - cotton buds or
Continue trying different techniques.
Time-permitting, students to start designing a print (drawing block size) with the techniques learned in their sketchbook. Option to follow a theme (garden, nature, floral etc).
Trainer may brainstorm with students on other recycled materials they may use and can bring from home.
Work on the final artwork.
1. Make your own stamp for printing.
2. Create a nature theme scenery using your printmaking stamp and stamping of recycled materials + 2D relief (cut and paste).
3. Make prints with ink/paints and brayers.
Artists to frame artwork, write artist statements.
Prep for presentation at Gallery Walk on 21 May.
Materials: Sketchbooks, scissors, liquid white glue, recycled bubble wrap, cardboard, foam etc. Drawing paper. Acrylic paints , brushes, brayer (if available).
