YOU ARE LOVED.
Following Jesus should cause our lives to reflect God's heart of generosity and mission, and even sacrifice. Jesus taught a lot about money and it's tie to the heart of mankind. God doesn't need our money, but as we give we have the opportunity see God change us and the world around us.
You can give during service or give a recurring or one-time gift online through the secure site below. Monetary donations can also be made to Reclamation Church Welch and mailed to 151 Virginia Ave., Welch WV 24801. "Giving is the overflow of joy in God's generosity." - John Piper
Jesus calls His followers to be generous, even sacrificially so. It is it NOT because God needs our money. But rather, through our giving, God is changing us into different creatures altogether with new desires, new things to celebrate and new security in Christ rather than in comfort or possessions. While the topic of "How much?" and "How often?" are debated for good reasons, these scriptural principles below might prove to be helpful (or even challenging) to consider as you follow Jesus:
Blessings of Giving:
"Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back." (Luke 6:38)
This verse emphasizes the principle of sowing and reaping. Christians are encouraged to give generously, knowing that God will abundantly bless them in return.
God Loves a Cheerful Giver:
Scripture: "You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully." (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Generosity should stem from a willing heart rather than obligation. God values cheerful giving, where individuals give out of love and gratitude rather than compulsion.
Supporting God's Work:
"Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce." (Proverbs 3:9)
Giving generously is a way to honor God and support His work on earth. By investing resources in advancing the Kingdom, believers participate in God's mission and demonstrate their trust in His provision.
Meeting Needs of Others:
"And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God." (Hebrews 13:16)
Generous giving enables believers to meet the needs of others, demonstrating compassion and care. It reflects Christ's love in action and pleases God as a form of worship.
Storing Up Treasure in Heaven:
"Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal." (Matthew 6:20)
Giving generously leads to eternal rewards. By investing in Kingdom purposes, believers store up treasure in heaven that will last for eternity, surpassing the temporary wealth of this world.
To wrap it up:
We pray that anyone who gives to Reclamation Church is giving with joy as they are looking to Christ as their treasure and seeking to see "His kingdom come on earth, as it is in heaven". And of course, our budget and giving initiatives are made public on request if you'd like to see it. Please ask and we'd be happy to meet and share it with you!
