Visby was a game experiment for a game idea that I had where you are a character in a city and this city is alive and things are happening in loops and you are there to stir the city into action against an oppressor.
Starting small, using a still from the movie Wolfwalkers to gain inspiration to build.
Using boids to simulate a lot of people in a city moving around.
Adding depth to the rendering.
Adding shadow rendering on top of characters and lighting the characters.
Adding basic movement to the characters.
Pathfinding by using animation tracks.
Adding some kids with texture animation that adds more life to the scene.
While this game was quite interesting, for me to be able to complete it I would need to pursue it properly full time and getting art content. It was a nice project to work on but I started getting bogged down by the work required to make it into a game.
