“My return to Read Write Discover this year was much more than just a rewarding experience. Through tutoring last summer, stepping up as a Coordinator had not only allowed me to come back to my roots volunteering with youth in my community, but I had also been able to better understand the privilege of education and the value of establishing my own personalized program from the ground up. In retrospect, it was humbling to have been in the footsteps of my previous Coordinators and proactively working behind the scenes while managing a team of tutors and a wonderful class of learners whom I now view as another family to me. From putting my trilingual skills into action, pushing the boundaries of what can be possible, and growing as both a mentor and learner, I highly recommend this opportunity and would 100% do it all over again if I could.
