Overdrive downloadable ebooks and audiobooks with library card https://phoenix.overdrive.com/ Audiobooks are best for learning when paired with text. If possible, check out a book, then download the audiobook for students.

Instantly access 35,000 of the best books, learning videos, quizzes & more" This site is free for teachers and many students have accounts through DM. However, parents can also sign up for their students. It is free during the Corona epidemic. For English Language Learners, I suggest having the story read to the student then having the student try reading it on their own. If they choose a book well above their grade level, that is fine; it's a great way to learn new vocabulary. However, I do not expect the students to read those on their own.
This site has current event articles at multiple reading levels. Students can select articles based on areas of interest.
