An Assembling Inclusion Course
An Assembling Inclusion Course
Students with specific learning disabilities (SLD) related to reading will likely need additional accommodations when they are in the inclusion setting. While leveled texts options, like Newsela and TweenTribune, exist, sometimes the texts your co-teacher selects do not come in a leveled format. One of the best solutions is to put the article into a Google Doc for all students. Then, as the special education co-teacher, you can go in and include these supports in the Doc of the students who need it. Not every student needs the same support, so this course contains options.
REMEMBER: Always ensure student IEP accommodations are followed. If a particular support is not in the IEP, you can still try it out and see if it helps the student!

BONUS: Mix and match these strategies within a single Google Doc to support different student needs!
