Talandira ECD developed over the span of three years ago, community members were determined that children need a better foundation for their academic success and health growth. Due to lack of resources and strategies to meet these needs, the community effort went in vain. Sadly, these needs remain the focus of Reach Out For Life today.
Reach Out For Life became key stakeholders, reorganizing the community effort and walk with them step by step, with financial support of Dr. David Elder. In 2018 we built a standard classroom for the children to use when learning and health team to conduct under five clinics.
‘MAWA’ is a vernacular word that translates to ‘FUTURE’ in English. The project will be divided into three phases (School, Community and District)
Schools have been a powerful setting to promote health programs. This school health and nutrition project is a cost-effective intervention for resource-poor countries where more schools and teachers are available than health care institutions and workers. Many school aged children are affected by treatable and preventable diseases. This project aims to provide basic medical first aid and public health skills to school health committee/teachers that will enable them to provide timely support and preventative measures to improve the health of school children. The project will be organized and implemented by Reach Out for Life with financial support from Global Youth Mobilization.
Rosa lives in a village in a rural area. Because there is still no preschool for children from the surrounding area, Rosa and 2 friends have organized the construction of a classroom and want to prepare children for school there in the future. But first Rosa has to either fund the project or collect donations to pay for the construction of the classroom, school materials, a small kitchen and caretakers.
She has been busy with this project for many months now. But why, if Rosa is already responsible for fulfilling public duties, does she also have to provide the funding herself? This is where DORIUM offers an alternative.
DORIUM is an alternative economic system that rewards social improvements, generates a new kind of digital money and is jointly controlled by all participants.
