About IIT GUWAHATI
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. Within a short period of time, IIT Guwahati has been able to build up world class infrastructure for carrying out advanced research and has been equipped with state-of-the-art scientific and engineering instruments.Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati's campus is on a sprawling 285 hectares plot of land on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra around 20 kms. from the heart of the city. With the majestic Brahmaputra on one side, and with hills and vast open spaces on others, the campus provides an ideal setting for learning.

From Guwahati Airport
IIT Guwahati is located 23 KMs away from the Guwahati airport.Prepaid taxis are available from the airport to the IITG campus. Taxi fare should not exceed Rs. 500 from the airport to the IITG campus.

IIT Guwahati is 22 KMs away from Guwahati railway station. Call taxis are available from Guwahati city to IITG campus. Call taxis can be booked at 0361-2228888 at least 24 hours prior to the time of journey.
IITG bus from Guwahati
IIT Guwahati runs buses from Guwahati city to IITG campus at regular intervals. The fare is Rs. 10. The designated stop is in front of Hotel President in Panbazar. It is a 15 minute walk from Guwahati railway station.
