The 6th International Conference on River Corridor Research and Management (RCRM 2027) will be held at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India, from 1–3 July 2027.
RCRM 2027 brings together researchers, academicians, scientists, engineers, practitioners, policymakers, and students working in river science, river engineering, water resources, geomorphology, ecology, and sustainable river management. The conference provides a dynamic interdisciplinary platform to present cutting-edge research, exchange innovative ideas, establish international collaborations, and discuss emerging challenges in river corridor management.

River systems worldwide are facing unprecedented pressures from rapid urbanization, climate change, increasing water demand, deteriorating water quality, river pollution, ecological degradation, sediment imbalance, flooding, and riverbank erosion. These challenges are particularly significant in developing countries, where sustainable river management is closely linked to environmental protection, economic development, and community resilience.
RCRM 2027 aims to address these challenges by bringing together experts from diverse disciplines to share scientific advances, engineering innovations, and practical experiences. The conference encourages interdisciplinary discussions that bridge research, policy, and practice, promoting sustainable and resilient river corridor management.
Since its inception in 2021, the RCRM conference series has grown from a focused virtual academic event with around 100 participants into an internationally recognized platform for river research. The conference has consistently attracted distinguished keynote speakers, leading scientists, early-career researchers, and professionals from academia, government organizations, and industry.
One of the defining strengths of the RCRM conference series is the publication of its peer-reviewed proceedings by Springer Nature, providing authors with global visibility through an internationally recognized publication platform. The proceedings of RCRM 2024 are expected to be published from October 2026, subject to the publisher's production schedule.
RCRM 2027 is committed to fostering scientific excellence, international collaboration, and knowledge exchange while maintaining an affordable and accessible platform for researchers worldwide. By connecting science, engineering, policy, and practice, the conference seeks to contribute toward more sustainable, resilient, and scientifically informed management of river corridors for future generations.
