Connections & Presence: Navigating the Digital World
Wombo.art is a relatively new phenomenon. It generates art based on key words you enter into a text box. The way it does this is controversial, because the AI grabs art from online to blend it into new forms and shapes.
Wombo.art can be accessed online at Wombo.art, or through phone app stores.
Wombo.art is so cool because of the fact that it creates new art mixes every single time you use it, even if you enter the exact same words and styles into the app!
Are you stuck for ideas? Curious what a strange combination of words and idea might produce? Maybe you just love amazing surreal visual art and have some time to kill! Give it a shot!
People are starting to use the art generated by Wombo.art to create screensavers for computers and phones, some want to use the art for album covers, novel covers, and all kinds of things. There are even people talking about doing NFT releases with the art generated. This is very controversial due to the fact that the art created is using copyright protected images from online! What do you think about this?
Click here to go to Wombo.art. Or, you can get the Wombo.art app from your phone's app store.
Once you're in, go to the Start Creating button on the home page. There is a text box for you to enter key words. Once you enter two or more words you can select a style of art from the options provided. Then all you need to do is hit Enter!
The AI will take a few moments to grab, mash up, and create a brand new artwork based on what you entered and the style you chose.
Here's one I made with the words: Pepper, Dog, Summer, and Happy. I selected the Pastel style.
You can see that the images created are a bit odd and abstract, but still interesting!
Give it a shot and see what you can make.
Wombo.art is so new that people are still figuring out what they can do with the artwork. The most important thing you should do when using the art you created for school purposes is this. MAKE SURE YOU SAY WHERE YOU GOT THE ART FROM. Be sure to explain to your teacher and in the classwork you're submitting what you used to make the art, and where you did it.
English - Make some awesome images with text from a document you've been composing to embellish your writing.
Math - Have you ever had to make your own math problem for other students to solve? Try using art to make it cool. Try plugging equations into the Wombo.art text box to see what it creates!
Science - Biology terms, physics terms, chemistry terms can be plugged into the generator to help keep you engaged in the content. Show them to your teacher. Maybe they can make cool posters for the classroom?!
Social Studies - Just like the science examples above, you can get inspired by the concepts you're learning to create interesting images.
Art - I think this one is obvious. If you have the opportunity to create digital art, you can use Wombo.art to explore ideas, get inspired to make your own work, or generate many images to print out for collage work.
