The Center is currently directed by Professor Yung-Ming Tien of the Department of Civil Engineering at our university. Professor Chih-Chung Chung, also from the Department of Civil Engineering, serves as Deputy Director, with expertise in geological hazard research and information applications. Tzu-Yi Lee, whose expertise includes disaster prevention and response mechanisms, risk analysis, and information applications, serves as Executive Director. All three have more than six years of professional experience in the field of disaster prevention.
Under the leadership of the Director, the Center is supported by a team of 20 full-time research assistants who assist in the implementation of various project-based research programs.
The Center integrates teaching and research resources from the College of Engineering, College of Earth Sciences, and the Center for Space and Remote Sensing Research of the university, and has established the following research divisions: Meteorological Disaster Research Division, Earthquake Disaster Research Division, Geological Disaster Research Division, Man-Made Disaster Research Division, Urban Disaster Research Division, and Socio-Economic Strategies and Regulatory Research Division. Through years of accumulated experience, the Center has developed substantial expertise and capabilities in disaster prevention research.
