The Center for Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Research at National Central University was established in November 1997 as an interdisciplinary research center integrating resources from the fields of humanities, natural sciences, engineering, management, and earth sciences. Its main objective is to integrate and apply existing interdisciplinary research resources related to disaster prevention and rescue within the university, promote academic research and international cooperation in related fields, actively seek research or educational cooperation projects related to disaster prevention and rescue, transform research results into practical applications, verify research achievements, and promote the upgrade of disaster prevention technology research. At the same time, it cooperates with the central government to promote disaster prevention policies, assists local governments in strengthening their disaster prevention capabilities, and demonstrates a spirit of serving local communities.
