Any social models used are not to indoctrinate students. Insetad, such models are used to understand the social and politcal climate of the. Social models are just ideas and are not factual., nor do they reflect the views of the teacher.

Race is usually a heated topic in this class. Thus the approach used will hopefully provide the student with an understanding of common oppression encountered by various groups. Perhaps by seeing similarities we can see  how groups experience some form of oppression at some point in America's history. The introduction section includes a definition of terms that complicate race. An assessment will be used on the terms presented in the sociological reading below.
