Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade

In K-2 Music Class, we sing, dance, play instruments, and start working on reading music!

In Kindergarten and First grade music, we begin learning about music literacy. We practice keeping steady beats, singing songs with a limited range to focus on pitch and tone, and identifying and performing with different elements of music (loud/soft, high/low, fast/slow). We will also perform in a K/1 Concert in May, which will be very cute and fun!

In second grade music, we continue to work on music literacy and skills in instrumental and vocal music. We will begin to use more standard notation such as quarter notes/rests, half notes/rests, and beamed eighth notes. We also will learn about music from different cultures and perform in a Cultural Arts Night in December with third grade.
