Larry Marantz - Owner

Larry has operated summer camps in NY & NJ since 1988. He recently retired from the NYC Dept. of Education after teaching English for 25 years. The father of 3 boys, (all born and raised in camp), Larry has been a respected innovator in the day camp business.

Kathy McBride - Owner/Director

Kathy, now in her 10th year as owner-director, is a lifelong Staten Islander, mom of 3 boys and grandmother of 1 girl. She has taught pre-school for many years and is not only our director but also the camp activity director. Her creativity and originality, ensures that our campers the most exciting themes and special events in camping

Jessica Giacci -


Jessica has been a director for 15 years and even a counselor for many years before that. She teacher 3rd grade and is the mom of a boy and girl, both campers. She also is our inclusion director and in charge of camper dismissal.

Michael O’Hanlan -


Mike has taught Physical Education in Lincoln HS since 2001. He has supervised the Big Apple games on SI and was even an RCDC camp counselor in his younger days. Mike, and his DOE Administrator wife Erin, have 3 young children, all campers at RCDC. He supervises our sports program, bringing his love of physical fitness to our campers.

Danielle Hepkins -


Danielle, who has been at RCDC since 2008, has an extensive background in early childhood education. She was an outstanding HS basketball player and now couches the sport for Port Richmond H.S. Danielle is our social media director and is involved in all activities and special events

Chris Caputo –


Chris, a lifelong SI resident and camper, has been with us for 10 years, first as a counselor then quickly rising to camp director. He teaches science at a middle school in Brooklyn and oversees our STEM program. Chris is also our technology expert and supervises RCDC’s on-line enrollment and web site. His keen observational skills and calm demeanor has made him a camper & parent favorite.

Brian McBride –

Camp Facilities Coordinator

Brian, now in his 10th summer at RCDC, is one of our most irreplaceable, hard-working supervisors. As RCDC’s facilities coordinator, his “behind the scenes” efforts and ability to withstand the daily rantings of his boss make him invaluable. Brian is responsible for all supplies and maintaining the equipment and cleanliness of our facility.

Jade Oliveras -


Jade has been with RCDC for more than a decade, rising from a CIT, to counselor to Assistant Director. With an extensive background in Early childhood Education, Jade brings a wealth of experience & enthusiasm to all our campers. In addition to her responsibilities as Assistant director, she supervises AM pick up and early extended hours.

Nick Tasca -


Nick has been at RCDC for 10 years, first as a group counselor, then a head counselor and finally, Assistant Director. During the year he teaches English at New Dorp HS. His enthusiasm and spirit make him an invaluable member of our leadership staff.
