Larry Marantz 

Owner

Larry has owned & operated more than half a dozen summer camps in NY & NJ since 1988. Retired from the NYC Dept. of Education after teaching English for 25 years, he is the father of 3 boys, (all born and raised in camp), and grandfather to Elena. Larry has been a respected innovator in the day camp industry for 5 decades.

Kathy Marantz

Director

Kathy, now in her 13th year as owner-director, is a lifelong Staten Islander, mom of 3 boys, and grandmother to Elena. She teaches preschool in NJ and is the organizer and creator of all camp activities. Her creativity ensures that our campers experience the most exciting themes and special events anywhere.

Jessica Giacchi

Assistant Director

Jessica has been a director at RC Day Camp for 16 years and even a counselor for many years before that. She has taught Pre-k to 5th grade at PS153 and is a mother to 3 children. She is our inclusion director and in charge of camper dismissal.

Mike O’Hanlan

Assistant Director

Mike has taught Physical Education at Lincoln HS since 1998 and before that at IS 62. He has supervised the Big Apple games on SI and was even an RCDC camp counselor in his younger days. Mike, and his DOE Administrator wife Erin, have 3 children, all campers and now a counselor at RCDC. He supervises every aspect of camp operations.

Chris Caputo

Program Director

Chris, a lifelong SI resident and camper, has been with us since 2013, first as a counselor then quickly rising to camp director and program coordinator. He teaches science at Bay Academy in Brooklyn and is also our technology expert, supervising our on-line enrollment and website. 

Division Directors

Brianna Mazzullo

Brianna began as a counselor 10 years ago and was recently promoted to Assistant director in 2021.  A science teacher at Wagner HS, she recently became engaged and plans a 2023 wedding- but thankfully, not during the summer.

Alyssa Fogliani

Alyssa - now in her 6th summer at RC Day Camp, Alyssa supervises our youngest campers- our Junior division which includes The Munchkins and 6 years old A life long student of dance, she currently works for the DOE, substituting in elementary schools across Staten Island. In addition to teaching, she is in school earning her Master's degree and finds time to teach dance, specializing in ballet and hip-hop.

Nick Tasca

Nick has been at RCDC for 12 years, first as a group counselor, then head counselor and finally, Director. During the year he teaches English at New Dorp HS. His enthusiasm and spirit make him an invaluable member of our leadership staff. He has a hand in all activities and counselor training. 

Anthony Aquino

As supervisor of our Lower division, Anthony brings his many talents as a musician and activities specialist to our second youngest division. A lifelong student of music,  now in his 5th year at RC Day Camp, Anthony has aspirations to teach music for the DOE and will be doing so soon. He currently plays in half a dozen bands & also gives individual, private lessons in guitar and bass.
