RCDC is looking for highly motivated individuals who are interested in giving our campers a memorable summer! We have numerous openings available in several positions. We are looking for group counselors, activity specialists, maintenance workers, EMTs/nurses, and teacher/head counselor types, with camp experience. Please look through the positions below to see what skill set you have that best fits our needs.

  • We prefer Staten Island residents.

  • Applicants must come for TWO interviews.

  • EVERY staff member, by law, MUST have a completed medical form, signed by a Doctor on file BEFORE camp begins.

  • There are 3 MANDATORY meetings for staff orientation & training. The dates are in June TBA

  • Counselors must be available for the entire Summer, July 5th – August 26th

Group Counselor

Counselor applicants must be in 12th grade or higher. Great counselors give our campers great summers! You will be responsible for a specific group of campers and lead them through all activities throughout the day. Counselors also assist specialists during their activities. Our specialists are expected to bring an engaging program to our campers! You will typically see five different groups a day for 45 minute periods. There are full time (5 days a week) or part time (2-3 days a week) options available. Examples of different specialist activities include the following: Dance, STEM/Nature, Art, Chess, Music, Cooking, Karate, etc. If you feel you have an engaging idea to add to our program then complete the application below!

Maintenance workers are responsible for the set up and clean up of the camp day. Responsilbites include: morning set-up, equipment management, lunch cleanup, etc. If interested you must be at least 18 years or older. Please complete the application below.

Working as a Nurse/EMT typically involves dealing with minors injuries that happen throughout the day at a typical day camp. Good bedside manner is a must along with a lot of patience!
