Join us at the Marketplace, where our children and teens will show off their arts, crafts, skills, and talents.
Open to any school-age child or teenager in the towns of Bridgewater and Raynham.
Accepting applications from children and teens grades 3-12 to sell their products and skills to peers. Any age child, with adult supervision, may attend the Marketplace on May 9.
What is the purpose of the Student Marketplace? We know there are many talented children and teens in our towns who are good at making things or have amazing skills and talents. We want to show those off in a place where their peers can buy their handmade items and/or learn from them!
What kinds of arts, crafts, skills, and talents do we mean? Children and teens love to make things, and many of our children and teens have become very good at that. Some examples of items that children and teens might make and sell at the Marketplace include jewelry, paintings, pottery, artistic photographs, homemade crafts, fairy gardens, bedroom decor, 3-D printed objects, nature-based items like pressed flowers, decorated baked goods, fashion and accessories, items for pets, and more. Your child's or teen's creativity is their only limit!
What do we mean by peer-teachers? What if my child has a skill but it doesn't involve making things? We know that children and teens are tremendously skilled in many areas, and may want to help others learn those skills. For example, is your child a good dancer and always trying to teach you moves? Does your teen like to sketch and ask you to join in as they walk you through the steps to drawing a cartoon character? Does your tween know how to solve a Rubik's cube and teaches their younger siblings how to do so? Other skills might involve music, magic, dance, drama, origami, chess, knitting, unique sports or sports-like moves, and more. Your child or teen's ingenuity in how to bring their skills to life for others is their only limit!
Ready to sign up? If you plan to help your child or teen apply to be a seller or peer-teacher, go to our Marketplace Application page. If you can't wait to simply attend the Marketplace with your children in May, go to our Attend the Marketplace page. Are you a parent who is willing to help us? Let us know here!
This program is funded by a Massachusetts Cultural Council Creative Experiences grant.
We are also receiving support from the following parent organizations in the BRRSD: LaLiberte Parent Organization, Friends of Williams, Raynham Middle School Parent Organization, and Friends of EOMS. While this event is not affiliated with BRRSD, we would like to thank the parent volunteers, teachers, and principals across the district who are supporting our efforts.
