Deep in the Rasos District lies the oldest and most famous cemetery in the city of Vilnius, Lithuania. This cemetery is debated to have first been created in 1769. Since that year, a total of 10.8 hectares of land have been set aside to provide a peaceful resting place for many Polish, Lithuanian, and Belorussian citizens. Many prominent historical figures lie within the newer and older walls of this graveyard.
