Hello! My name is Savannah Brown. I live in a small farm town in Virginia and I work as a gardener at a local nursery. I have also been running my own business since 2019 selling and shipping chickens throughout the United Sates. I am currently a sophomore at Piedmont Virginia Community College and Northern Virginia Community College. I will be receiving my associate's degree this fall. I plan to transfer to the University of Virginia where I will major in the Russian Language and Foreign Affairs. My dream goals are to work as a diplomat and to become a polyglot.
I chose Rasos Cemetery for our project because I have a major obsession with history. Working alongside the oldest cemetery in Vilnius has been quite the adventure! It has also been a unique way to learn about the history of Lithuania. Rasos Cemetery is the resting place for many prominent Lithuanian, Polish, and Belorussian individuals that I had the pleasure to visit during this project.
Hello! My name is Katrine Semenyaka, I live in West Hartford, Connecticut. I am currently a sophmore, and I study National Security and plan to minor in Russian at University of New Haven
I chose Rasos Cemetery as I enjoyed researching the historical events of the area. Like Savannah mentioned, the prominent figures that reside in Rasos is quite interesting. I liked learning about the traditions, and I recognized many of them in my own culture.
