Massimo Panella is Associate Professor at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, where he holds courses on Electrical Engineering, Circuits and Algorithms for Signal Processing, Machine Learning, and Computational Intelligence. Effective April 2017, he is qualified to the role of Full Professor in Electrical Engineering and, effective March 2018, he is qualified to the role of Full Professor in Computer Science Engineering. The research activities of M. Panella pertain to circuit theory, machine learning, computational intelligence and quantum computing for modelling, optimization and control of complex systems even in distributed environments with multiple data sources as for sensor networks, pervasive systems, and IoT applications. He's been Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, and Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems. M. Panella is an IEEE Senior Member. The research topics of M. Panella have laid sound foundations for the constitution of four academic startups, with leadership roles for R&D in the field of ICT, multimedia, sensor networks, energy efficiency, Intelligent Transportation Systems, safety, security, e-learning, telemedicine, and e-health.

Ponnuthurai Nagaratnam Suganthan is/was an associate editor of the Applied Soft Computing (Elsevier, 2018-), Neurocomputing (Elsevier, 2018-), IEEE Trans on Cybernetics (2012 - 2018), IEEE Trans on Evolutionary Computation (2005 - ), IEEE Trans on SMC: Systems (2020 - ), Information Sciences (Elsevier, 2009 - ), Pattern Recognition (Elsevier, 2001 - ) and Neurocomputing (2018 - ) Journals. He is a founding co-editor-in-chief of Swarm and Evolutionary Computation (2010 - ), an SCI Indexed Elsevier Journal. His research interests include swarm and evolutionary algorithms, pattern recognition, big data, deep learning and applications of swarm, evolutionary & machine learning algorithms. He was selected as one of the highly cited researchers by Thomson Reuters yearly from 2015 to 2020 in computer science. He served as the General Chair of the IEEE SSCI 2013. He has been a member of the IEEE (S'91, M'92, SM'00, F'15) since 1991 and an elected AdCom member of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) in 2014-2016. He is an IEEE CIS distinguished lecturer (DLP) in 2018-2021.

Claudio Gallicchio is Assistant Professor at the University of Pisa, Italy. His research activity focuses on the development, analysis, and application of novel Randomized Neural Networks based on Reservoir Computing, with extensions to the areas of Deep Learning and Learning in Structured Domains (tress, graphs). He participated to several EU funded research projects exploiting the concept of Randomized Neural Networks. He serves as member of several PCs of major conferences on Machine Learning and Neural Networks (including WCCI/IJCNN, AISTATS, IJCAI, ICLR), and as guest editor of special issues on themes related to Reservoir Computing in major journals (including IEEE TNNLS and Springer Cognitive Computation). He is also active as (co-)organizer of events (special sessions, workshops, tutorials) in international conferences. Claudio Gallicchio is the founder and chair of the IEEE CIS Task Force on Reservoir Computing.
