I am assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Pisa.
I am member of the Computational Intelligence & Machine Learning Group and of the Pervasive AI Laboratory.
Research - My research interests are at the intersection between the areas of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Neural Networks and Dynamical Systems.
Specifically, I am interested in Dynamical Neural Network models, Reservoir Computing, and Deep Learning for Graphs.
Students' Supervision - Drop me a line at my email without hesitation.
I am happy to supervise BSc, MSc and PhD students on topics related to Recurrent Neural Networks, Reservoir Computing, Stable Neural Architectures, Neural ODEs, Deep Equilibrium Models, Deep Learning for Digital Humanities.
I am a member of IEEE, IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, of the European Neural Networks Society (ENNS), of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and of the Associazione Italiana per l’Intelligenza Artificiale AI*IA.
I am member of the Data Mining and Big Data Analytics Technical Committee (DMTC) of the Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Inc. (IEEE).
I am Chair and founder of the IEEE Task Force on Reservoir Computing, vice-chair and co-founder of the IEEE Task Force on Randomization-Based Neural Networks and Learning Systems, and member of the IEEE CIS Task Force on Deep Learning and of the IEEE Task Force on Learning for structured data.
