Invited Speakers and panelists

Laura Connolly is a Ph.D. Candidate in Electrical Engineering at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON, Canada. She is mentored by Dr. Gabor Fichtinger, Dr. Parvin Mousavi and Dr. Russell H. Taylor. She has recently completed her second visiting studentship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, USA in the Laboratory for Computational Sensing and Robotics (LCSR). Her research is focused on open-source software for image-guided robotics and robot-assisted breast-conserving surgery. 

Javier Morlana is about to complete his Ph.D. at the University of Zaragoza, under the supervision of Prof. José M.M. Montiel. During his doctoral studies, he completed research internships at Leica Geosystems and Google, focusing on topics related to metric visual SLAM. His research is centered on Visual Place Recognition and metric-topological SLAM for endoscopic applications.
