Mind is an interface between the body and brain of a person. It is not one organ but a number of organs spread throughout the body controlling various body organs. Basically, it presents bodily desires of the person to their brain who may accept or reject them. Same way, experiences from the Memory, and logically and morally correct commands from the Thinking module of the brain brain are conveyed to organs through the mind, which again may accept or reject these commands. Hence, in most of the persons, their mind and brain often clash, and the winner depends on which one is stronger at that time.
Manasveda is an evolving Science under Psychology with its aim of taking care of the body health through use of the Mind which is the interface between the Body and the Mind. It is based on our observation that the Mind knows the best about the Body, and it has the power to over-rule commands of the Brain in management of the Body. .
Every organ of body has its own controlling gland monitoring and regulating health of the organ. If the gland suffers a disorder, it is immediately reflected on the performance of the organ. Sum total of all these glands is known as the mind of the living-being, that senses what the body desires for its pleasures and conveniences. Thus, mind is a pleasure-seeker of the living-being, without bothering whether the pleasures are logically and morally correct or not. It is because of absence of logic unit in the mind. Hence, we can say that all crimes are committed by the body under command of the mind only. In a person, their mind is called as his 'Mana' (in Hindi language). When a person acts under guidance of their mind, they may be committing a crime if the person is of criminal nature or free from moral obligations.
Brain is a distinct organ located inside skull of the person, having many components, principals of these being Memory and Logic units. The Memory keeps on recording and storing the person's experiences, while the Logic does the 'Thinking' and deciding morally-correct ways of life. Because of the Logic Unit, Brain of a person is never supportive to crimes but keeps on pressing for Duties. But the brain has a serious limitation of commanding the body through Mind only – like an interface in between the Body and the Brain, which is free to accept or reject the command of the Brain, hence very often goes the way of bodily pleasures, unless the person is of strongly dedicated to their duties, rather than for pleasures. Here comes sacraments of the person to play their roles, and force the Mind to follow command from the Brain ignoring body’s pleasures. This process keeps on creating tussles between the Brain and Mind of the person in most of their actions. In every tussle, the winner – the Brain or the Mind, is decided and the body is given the Winner’s orders to perform accordingly.
Psychology deals with only the software part of the Mind but without any clear view of its hardware part. Very often, the Mind is considered just a synonym of the Brain. Similarly, Allopathic System of Medicine has no idea of the Mind. But Ayurveda, the Medicine System developed during Vedic Era in India deals extensively with the Mind, calling its individual organ-related unit with the name of a 'Marma', each attached to a body organ to cover the whole Body.

Now-a-days, I find many posts on social media related to latest researches on Human conduct, said to be controlled by their Brain/Mind, it is because the Scientists fail to understand difference between the Brain and the Mind. For them, the Heart is only a Blood-Pumping Organ. Here are the realities of the Brain, the Mind and the Heart.
The Background
As far as any living-being is here on the Earth, he is represented by their Body only, that finally decomposes on their death with leaving no trace of their existence except some Memories based on their Deeds. Hence, only Deeds of a person have the potential of making their existence on the Earth immortal.
The Soul of a person is said to be immortal causing rebirths of the person. This is a fraud with the people by Adi-Shankaracharya who, for the first time, gave a new meaning to the word ‘Atma’ used in Vedic literature, wherein the word ‘Atma’ means The Self, or the Body. From this misinterpretation of the word, fake concepts of Rebirth after Death, Ghosts, etc were propounded by Shankaracharya. All such pronouncements aim at making people fearful of God, hence becoming religious. This certainly loads to a degradation of Humanity from their Superior-most position on the Earth. Its purpose has been to tame people for an easy ruling over them.
Thus, a single understanding about the word ‘Atma’ can drastically change human thoughts, words and deeds.
The Life and the Body
Lifespan of a person is limited by only one factor of their body being alive. Let us understand what does it mean? A living body has 13 importantly functional organs – Brain, Mind-set, Conscience, five Sensory Organs : Eyes, Ears, Nostrils, Taste buds, and Skin, five Action Organs : Hands, Legs, Mouth, Sex-organs and Waste-excretion organs. Until, all these are functional, the person is fully and alive. Loss or inefficiency of some organs may cause partial death, that may lead to – directly or indirectly, ultimate death.
This establishes that Body is the most precious existential asset of a living-being. Its three most important organs which govern human deeds are the Brain, Mind-set, and the Conscience. Let us examine these.
The Brain
Brain of a person resides within their skull, connected to the Mind-set through nerves for to and fro transmission of signals. It is said to be the ultimate controller of the person’s thoughts, words and actions, but it is NOT, indeed. Its two important suborgans are Memory and Logic Unit. Memory keeps record of the person’s experiences, for providing to the Logic-unit whenever needed for taking decisions. Since these decisions are experience and logic-based, these are just and the best decisions a person can take.
Unfortunately, the said experience and logic based decisions of the Brain are NOT binding on the person, for these may be overruled by the Mind-set and Conscience of the person.
The Mind-Set
Mind is not a single organs residing at a paticular place in the body, but a number of glands in the body controlling conducts of body organs, hence those of the person. No organ sends its signals directly to the Brain, but through its own gland, called the Mind of the organ. The set of all these glands makes the Mind-set of the person.
Mind-set works as the custodian of comforts and pleasures of the person, hence takes its decisions accordingly. It may or may not adhere to commonly known moral values, or the said good conduct of a person. Still, the decisions of the Mind-set are never binding on the Brain. The Brain and the Mind-set stick to their own decisions whether the other accepts those or not. This leads to inner conflicts in the person which may lead to various disorders in the body.
Both the Brain and Mind-set of a person keep on interacting with each other as needed, with none subordinate to the other. Both take their own decisions, convey to each other but for information only. Both can refuse to accept decisions of each other, and stick to own decisions.
The Mind-set has an upper edge over the Brain. Since, it directly controls the body organs, the person’s conduct is governed by the Mind-set, it may or may not adhere to the decision of the Brain decided by the Mind-set. All unfortunate conducts of a person are governed by this freedom of the Mind-set from the Brain.
The Heart-lotus
Conscience is called Chetana of the person in Vedic Literature. It resides on the surface of the heart, often known as Hrudaya-kamal of the person for having form and tenderness like that of Lotus flower. It is a transmitter and receptor organ of the person that connects them to the outer World through electromagnetic waves of low frequency. All emotions like love, hate, sympathy, etc are sourced in the heart-lotus of the person which closely functions with the Brain but has no direct control over the person’s conduct, but through the Brain and the Mind-set.
Signals of the Conscience are stronger than those of the Brain, hence often overpower decisions of the Brain. For the strength of these signals reaching the Mind-set through the Brain, the Mind-set often accepts these. Thus, emotions of a person get a preferred treatment, hence the person often disobeys even logical decisions of their Brain, and even decisions of the Mind-set taken for their pleasures and comforts.
Conclusion
The Brain of a person proves to be the weakest entity in decision making process, while the Heart-lotus is the strongest decision maker, with the Mind-set falling in between the two. This creates more conflicts within the person, making them even more vulnerable to physical disorders.
