The Path to OWL
Stage 1: Profit & Loss Statements
In Stage 2, we took all the P&LS (Profit and Loss Statements) and placed them into a database and parsed the G&Ls then we allotted the percentage to the Beach Club and to RML for both income and expenses.
When you review this document, you will notice that certain areas are purple. The purple areas are RML and the amounts for RML's income and expenses have been deleted from the list.
The resulting totals are the income and expenses for Crystal Lake Beach Club.
All 5 years are in one place for easy reference.
In this stage, we removed the GLs that were part of RML to make it even easier to navigate the spreadsheet.
We also added a section at the bottom to show the profit and loss of each year.
Every year, Crystal Lake Beach Club made a profit, with the exception of the Covid summer.
We believe that with some minor tweaking that number can be increased and the profit margin can be made larger.

The final stage should be completed in the near future. We are awaiting a few numbers, but Stage 4 is available for your review.
Here are our suggestions and projections for OWL for next year.
The Stage 4a graphic shows the projected income for OWL Conservancy and for the Beach club. The OWL donations are mandatory to allow for levels of access to the facilities.
We estimated based on that. A "Friend" is the person who wishes to support the environmental goals of OWL. A "Swimmer" contributes to be able to join the Beach Club,.etc
The Beach Club memberships are a new system. Hopefully simple enough to accommodate the staff yet flexible enough to allow us to meet the needs of the largest possible subgroups of our members.

This second graphic is for informational purposes only. This is the income for the Beach Club by membership type, and on the bottom is the gross for the snack bar.

Using the information above and the 5 years of P&Ls we developed this final budget for 2023 OWL. As you can see clearly that there is a profit from year 1 and the "Donations" are pretty well guaranteed because they are tied to lake access. The OWL and Beach Club income will actually be decided on by the OWL board. This is merely a budget.
Thank you for reviewing this large amount of information and we look forward to working together to build our tomorrow.
