The streets, windows, wall paintings by women & the textures, colours that define India, have been my inpirations through out my working life: having travelled accross several craft clusters, remote villages, my work carries impressions, memories & inspirations consciously & sub consciously;
Over the years these impressions have given me an identity that is rooted in our context of daily life, rituals of our myriad festivals & images from mythology, tribal tales & rituals; It is alive & ever evolving with my work, with me. These images find its way to my work, through paintings, marks, textures & colors, in varying dimensions & finding its rhythm through the medium of clay, its own tactile quality & creating a unique vocabulary that tells its story of time!
Living & experiencing the life of potters, craftspersons accross cultures & landscapes have enriched my work; intense experiences & interactions, inform my ceramics that strive to create its own identity through various techniques, colors, textures, while retaining the inherent quality of the earth, the clay.I continue to travel & look for inspirations, for that perfect form, of the formless!
