PhD at Earth and Climate Science Department
I am Rashi, a Ph.D. student working in the lab of Dr. Rahul Dehiya and co-supervised by Dr. Sudipta Sarkar. I graduated in Physics from Miranda House, University of Delhi (2015). Then, I completed my M.Tech (Applied Geophysics) in 2018. I worked for a year on a DST project entitled “Estimation of Source Parameters and Scaling Relations for Moderate size earthquakes in the National Capital (Delhi) Region.” My main interest is in seismic data analysis, and I am currently working on seismic data analysis of volcanic provinces. I also developed skills in Differential Effective Medium Theory and estimation of velocity and thickness of high-velocity thin layers such as Basalt intruded into the low-velocity medium such as sedimentary strata. I make use of seismic data processing tools such as GlobeClaritas and SeisImager software and also use Matlab and SOFI2D in order to achieve my targets.
