I am a geophysicist, and my research interests are developing novel algorithms to enhance subsurface imaging capabilities, leading to reliable decision-making in natural resource exploration/exploitation, crustal studies, and geotechnical works. My research mainly includes forward and inverse modeling of geophysical data, particularly electromagnetic and seismic methods and their subsurface imaging applications.
Rashi is interested in seismic data analysis, and she is currently working on seismic data analysis of volcanic provinces. Earlier, she also experimented with Differential Effective Medium (DEM) theory, along with some experiments performed in a Matlab environment. (Co-supervisor - Dr. Sudipta Sarkar)
Iktest completed his PhD in 2024. His thesis is on the integration of seismic and controlled-source electromagnetic methods for subsurface imaging.
Deepak completed his PhD in 2023. He worked on the DC resistivity algorithm development, with special emphasis on using advanced mathematical methods that can handle complex geological models having rugged topography and anisotropy, and provide a stable solution for such models.
Vivek did his MS project on near-surface characterization using seismic data. He is a young, independent entrepreneur in the field of e-education.
Sujith developed a 2D full-waveform inversion algorithm of seismic data using Gauss-Newton and NLCG optimization methods. His main research interests are seismic data acquisition, signal processing, inverse theory, and optimization. He is currently pursuing his PhD at The University of Texas at Austin
