Food Futures Lab: From Imagination to Innovation
This immersive workshop activity invites participants to explore the Design Futures Art-driven (DFA) method, which fuses Design Thinking, Futures Thinking, and Art Thinking to envision and shape desirable futures. Centred on the theme “Future of Food”, participants embark on a sensorial “time travel” experience, stepping into alternative futures to rethink food systems for human and planetary health. Guided by anticipation, creativity, and cross-sectoral dialogue, they will transform present-day challenges into opportunities for innovation. Participants will co-create future scenarios and diegetic prototypes - physical and narrative artefacts that embody possible futures - experiencing first-hand how the DFA method sparks a shift from problem-solving to reimagining the possibilities. The result of the activity: a future-ready mindset that supports sustainable, ethical, and transformative innovation.
