I had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Pellegrini about his retirement. He worked at Padua for 40 years and when he broke the news that he was leaving, it was a big deal. I focused this story on his time at Padua and what his plans were after he left. I interviewed Mr. Pelligrini and then wrote my story around his quotes.
This story is about how Student Ambassadors operate. Unlike Signor's story, I didn't let Ms. Maguire's quotes frame the story. I just wrote about the structure of the program, what it entails, and used her quotes as "golden coins".
This was one of my favorite pieces that I've written. I really wanted to showcase Emily through this story, not just because of her skills but because of her character. I used more of Coach DiSabatino's quotes rather than Emily's because I wanted someone who knows her well to talk about her and their perspective instead of Emily's own personal opinion of herself.
The leaders in Padua's Convergence Media group took a backpack journalism to Washington DC. We were all assigned a different museum and had to write a story, create a photo gallery, as well as make a news package about to museum. I collaborated with Grace DiGiovanni and Maddie Zink for the project. We didn't use quotes in our story because we wanted to focus more on what the museum has to offer instead of what people thought about it.
