Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA): As a four year member of SOTA I attended meetings every other week and participated discussions about OT. I collaborate with students from each cohort and learn about different areas of practice.
Occupational Therapy Department Advisory Board: In my fourth year, I attended a meeting in the fall and will in the spring. I acted as a student representative and provided feedback regarding different topics within the profession and department.
St. Anthony School Program at Duquesne University: I have been a work study student here for four years. I am a peer support to students with intellectual and development disabilities who are attending college. I lead small groups during job sites and provide one on one assistance when needed.
Occupational Therapy Department Ambassador: As an ambassador, I communicate with potential students, lead question/answer sessions, assist new OT students, and attend various events as a representative of the department.
Sigma Kappa Sorority: In the sorority I held a chair position as sunshine chair. My job was to promote positivity and empower others around me. Our philanthropy served the Alzheimer's Association and I helped raise money for awareness and to help those affected by this disease.
Community Engaged Learning Poster: My group and I completed research regarding the impact of communication and time on caregivers' ability to meet their child's sensory needs. We completed a questionnaire via email, survey during a school session, and proposed a program to establish parent education to improve role competence.
