Being a first-gen college student, and having to overcome the challenges of culture / language barriers early one meant that my confidence in STEM was uncertain. Despite those challenges, the practicality and potential to be positive agent drew me towards my degree in Mechanical Engineering.
While my innate curiosity and love for gadgets continued to drive me forward, my learning experience could improve in a productive an inclusive space. My goal is to realize this same wish to student with the innate passion to excel in STEM but are often discouraged.
Being in GSCP, I have come to realize that incorporating research, service, interdisciplinary, global, and entrepreneurship throughout my collegiate career helped gain more confidence in myself. As a result, I became a leader in my community and made a positive impact in other 's learning experience as a tutor, a math coach, a residential assistant, and a pre-collegiate initiative coordinator.
