Welcome to Quest("we," "our," or "us"). Our mission is to help gamers replace mindless social media scrolling with intentional gaming by tracking backlogs, logging play sessions, and connecting with friends.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Quest App mobile application on iOS and Android. This policy applies to all users of the app, including those on our free tier and our premium subscription tier, Quest Pro.

We collect information that you provide directly to us, as well as data automatically collected when you use the app.
A. Personal Data You Provide:
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, a secure (hashed) password, a display name, and a unique username.
Profile Data: You may optionally provide a profile picture or avatar.
App Usage & Gaming Data: We collect information regarding your gaming library, play session history (including timestamps and durations), custom notes you write about games, and your app configuration settings (such as notification preferences).
B. Automatically Collected Data:
Device & Technical Data: We automatically collect your device's timezone to ensure accurate session logging, and we generate a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to deliver push notifications.

To provide the core functionality of Quest, including backlog tracking and session logging.
To enable social features and interactions with your approved friends.
To manage your Quest Pro subscription status.

To monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve the app experience.

We utilize trusted third-party services to operate, maintain, and improve Quest. These services may access or process your data strictly for the purposes outlined below:
Google Cloud & Firebase: We use Firebase for our core backend infrastructure. This includes Firestore (database), Firebase Auth (secure user authentication and password hashing), Firebase Storage (hosting profile pictures), and Firebase Cloud Messaging (delivering push notifications).
Google Analytics & Firebase Crashlytics: We use these tools to track app usage, feature engagement, and to monitor bugs and app crashes so we can improve performance.
Google Sign-In: Offered as an optional, secure third-party authentication method to create and log into your account.
RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage and process in-app subscriptions for Quest Pro. Note: We do not directly collect or store your credit card information. All payment processing is handled securely by the respective app stores (Apple App Store or Google Play) and routed through RevenueCat.
IGDB / Twitch API: We use this third-party API to fetch public game artwork and metadata to display within the app. No personal user data is ever sent to or shared with IGDB.

Quest includes social features that allow you to connect with friends.
Activity Feed: By default, if you add approved friends, your display name, username, avatar, current active game, and recently completed games will be visible to them in an Activity Feed.
Privacy Controls: You have full control over your visibility. You can set your profile to "Private" in the app settings at any time, which completely hides your activity from the social feed.

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. Your passwords are never stored in plain text; they are securely hashed and handled via Firebase Authentication. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information.
Account Deletion: You can request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data directly within the Quest settings, or by contacting us using the information below. Upon a deletion request, your personal data, gaming history, and profile information will be permanently removed from our active databases.

Quest is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will promptly delete that information.
