Gay and Lesbian Doctors New Zealand - Page

Creating a network of GLBT doctors and medical students in Aotearoa New Zealand

Browsing Facebook I could find several pages dedicated to communities of GLBT doctors, like the American GLMA and the Irish Gay Doctors Ireland, but nothing from New Zealand, where I live.

I thought that creating a Facebook page was a good idea to start networking, maybe as a first step towards an association.

Why? Well:

- GLBT doctors and medical students may still face discrimination and homoph...obia in their career, and being united is the first and most useful way to overcome these issues

- Bringing together a wide range of subspecialties and seniority levels within the medical GLBT community, so that everyone can learn from everyone else's experience

- Offering a reference page for GLBT doctors around the world (especially from countries where homosexuality is still a crime) wishing to emigrate to NZ

- GLBT people might wish to see a GLBT doctor to be open about their health issues.

Now the community should be able to grow: please feel free to invite any GLBT doctor or medical student you know!
