As Christians, we are called to serve others in many ways in our actions and in our prayers.
With our actions, we reflect God's love for us, express our gratitude for the strength He gives us, and celebrate the beautiful and wonderous diversity of all God's Creation, in solidarity with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ, as we are indeed One Body in Christ.
In so doing, we gladly share each other's burdens and the pain of one of us becomes the pain of the many.
This page emphasizes the importance of prayer in our lives, and offers ongoing prayers that support our current prayer practice.
Prayer for Tolerance, Forgiveness, Reconciliation
Last year, to mark the 25th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada on June 21, the Canadian Conference Catholic Bishops (CCCB) released a prayer titled “Prayer for Tolerance, Forgiveness, Reconciliation.” June 21 is Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada; this special day was created by the federal government in 1996 to “recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people.”
O God, Creator and Father of all, with humility we your children acknowledge the relationship of all living things. For this we thank you, we praise you and we worship you. We call on you, Great Mystery, the Word made Flesh — our teacher, prophet and brother — to open our hearts to all our brothers and sisters, and with them to grow in the wisdom, honesty, courage and respectfulness shown in The Sacred Teachings. Give us the vision and honesty to recognize that we are all brothers and sisters of one human family, created and sustained by the One Creator. As we deal with many challenges, may we never give way to fear and anger, which can be the source of division and threat amongst peoples. We look to how God always gives to us, as a remedy for sins of prejudice and intolerance. We see in God the Creator of all things, One who always provides and is generous — even given the abuses we have heaped on one another and on the Earth. We see in the Son, Jesus Christ — the innocent Victim who pours His life blood out from the Cross for all peoples. We see how the Holy Spirit is God’s gift, alive in our world today — inspiring vision and hope that we can have the same mind and heart of God! May Your Spirit bless the souls who died at the Kamloops residential school and all souls who died at residential schools. May this same Spirit also bring blessing and healing to all families and communities affected in any way by the schools. O Creator, show us the way to healing, forgiveness and reconciliation and a renewed fellowship. Amen

Prayer for Catholic Education Week 2022
God of grace, help us to rediscover how to be side by
side in rebuilding our communities of faith and
learning. Help us restore harmony and balance in our
relationships and renew our desire to approach
challenges confidently and with peaceful hearts. May
we always rejoice in recognizing the blessings our lives
hold. Amen

A Prayer for Autism Acceptance & Inclusion
Loving God,
Bless today in special ways
all the children, adults, and families
who see the world through the window of autism.
May Your Spirit burn bright in them
and all who celebrate and honor
the richness of our diversity
during this Autism Awareness month of April.
Grant us, O Lord,
the wisdom
to see your image reflected
in all of our differences,
and to recognize the unique gifts
we each have to offer.
May the doors of ministry in our Church
Continue to open wide in welcome to all of God's family.
We ask this in Jesus' holy name. Amen.

Our focus of prayer this month is for the peoples of Ukraine and Russia.
We are all one Body in Christ. As Christians
God calls us to love one another without
reserve and to pray for one another. We
pray for the leaders of these countries, for
God’s intervention, restoration of peace,
and divine protection for all people living in
and fleeing Ukraine and ask the Holy Spirit
to comfort and console affected families in
these two countries, and their friends and
relatives in Canada and around the world.

Christmas Reflection & Prayer
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God sent Jesus to show us the path to Redemption. He arrived in the world as a vulnerable infant; the son of a simple carpenter and his wife. His parents soon fled their home country, seeking refuge in a foreign place. He was without power, influence, or wealth.
His Coming into the world is a reminder to care for all who may be most vulnerable: the sick, those struggling with poverty, and the lonely.

Spirited Reflection: Celebrating Advent, Peace and International Human Rights
Eternal God of love and justice, you keep entering into our lives with your reign of peace; you call us to be awake to the moments of your Advent among us. We give thanks that you have come and keep coming to reign among us in Christ, Emmanuel.
Loving God, as we enjoy the beauty of nature, Christmas poinsettias, trees, forests, we give thanks for the memory of loved ones and their contribution to our lives and to the world in which we live.
Merciful God, help us prepare for your presence in the coming of the Christ child. May Christmas be filled with joy and commitment to your Reign of Peace and Love. Grant us the peace that comes in following your ways, in opening our lives to you, and sharing our gifts for your sake.
Emmanuel, God with us, you hold the key to abundant life and happiness; and you give us the power to be agents of peace and goodwill. We pray for the world in which we live.
God of Justice and Compassion, we pray for the honouring of human rights at all times. We pray for the work of organizations throughout our communities and the world dedicated to human rights, social justice, peace and good health.
Good and Loving God, we pray for a Christmas that will be a genuine celebration and proclamation of the good news of your Reign of Love, bringing light, and healing, and peace.
Help us, dear God to be people of faith, living with respect in Creation, loving and serving others, seeking justice and resisting evil, and thereby proclaiming Jesus, crucified and risen, now and forever.
