Just like everything else, you can find something useful, or you can find it useless. In the case of energy, it can either be used, or be wasted.
- Useful energy is energy that is used in the way it wants to be used. E.g: A light bulb's useful energy is light.
- Wasted energy is energy that is being used, but you don't want it to be used in that particular store-you want it all to be used in the way you want it used. E.g: A light bulb's wasted energy is heat. You don't want heat being produced-so that's why it's being wasted.
- When energy is transferred, some energy will always be transferred to a different store, like the bulb example.
- Dissipated energy is another word for wasted energy
- Friction causes wasted energy.
- Useful energy eventually spreads out/transferred to the environment. Wasted energy always gets transferred to the things around it/surroundings.
- Energy starts to become useless the more that it is dissipated.
