This is a relax A&S Display that is similar to the Heavy Squires Tournament! Queen's Prize Tourney (QPT) offers artisans and makers the opportunity to display an arts & sciences project. We are expanding it this year to include bardic or performance entrants. Entrants must have a “sponsor” who is a either member of the Order of the Argent Flame, Order of the Harp of Avacal or the Order of the Laurel or other kingdom equivalents.
QPT welcomes all projects and this year performance entries. We accept projects that are complete, in progress, or perhaps not what the artist or maker had hoped. Bardic and performance entrants are also welcome via pre-registration.
Experienced members (called “discussion panelists”) can meet with the entrant if they wish to discuss the display or performance including methodology, what went well, what can be improved, and to possibly provide advice on how to improve or solve a particular challenge. All types of projects or performances are welcomed! Period, non-period, and SCA-isms are welcomed!
The sponsors must prepare and bring participation gifts equal to the number of entrants they are sponsoring. The sponsors then choose an entrant to give their prize to, in this way, every entrant receives a participation gift.
Unlike the Kingdom Arts & Sciences or Bardic competitions, there is no score for the project or performance. The point of this tournament is to have discussions about the project or performance, not to grade it. At the end of the event, there are special gifts for the Discussion Panelists' Choice, the Heirs' Choice (if they wish) and the Queen's Choice.
