This course is about application of learning theories and research-based principles to design and apply appropriate digital tools and platforms to create maximally effective online learning and instruction.
Upon completing the course, I have gained a comprehensive understanding and awareness of the historical development of emerging technologies in education. I am now proficient in identifying and explaining a wide array of cutting-edge research on innovative educational tools, applications, media, environments, and the learning theories that support them. It has significantly enhanced my awareness and understanding of the latest technologies for learning such as Augmented and Virtual Reality, Mobile Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Personalization and Digital Teaching Platforms, allowing me to discuss the potential of innovations like multi-user virtual environments, data analytics, maker spaces, and augmented and virtual realities in enhancing teaching and learning practices. I can articulate strategies to address the challenges of integrating advanced learning technologies within the current educational policy and practice landscape, and understand the implications for educational equity and diversity, proposing ways to mitigate these issues. Additionally, I have learned to design learner activities that leverage emerging technologies and can outline the anticipated developments in information technology in education for the coming decade.
This is a 5-minute unique multimedia product that I created primarily using Powerpoint. It recognized the most significant technological developments in our known human history. Its goal is to identify the key elements that I believe are the most significant emerging technologies of a given time that have propelled humanity forward.
