PAST PARTICIPLES
In English grammar, the past participle refers to an action that was started and completed entirely in the past. It is the third principal part of a verb, created by adding -ed, -d, or -t to the base form of a regular verb.

MODAL VERBS
An auxiliary verb that expresses necessity or possibility. English modal verbs include must, shall, will, should, would, can, could, may, and might.
TYPE MODAL VERBS EXAMPLES
ABILITY Can, Could David can speak three languages.
He could speak fluent French when he was 5.
PERMISSION Can, Could, May Can I sit in that chair please? (INFORMAL)
Could I open the window? (POLITE)
May I borrow your dictionary? (FORMAL)
ADVISE Should You should visit your dentist at least twice a year.
OBLIGATION Must, Have to, Ought to I must memorize all of these rules
You have to take off your shoes.
He ought to study a bit harder.
POSSIBILITY Might, May, Could, Can It looks nice, but it might be very expensive.
Richard may be coming to see us tomorrow.

COUNTABLE and UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
Nouns can be countable or uncountable. Countable nouns can be counted, e.g. an apple, two apples, three apples, etc. Uncountable nouns cannot be counted, e.g. air, rice, water, etc. When you learn a new noun, you should check if it is countable or uncountable and note how it is used in a sentence.
Countable Nouns
There's a man at the door.
I have some friends in New York.
I don't have a dog.
There aren't any seats.
Is there an email address to write to?
Are there any chairs?
How many chairs are there?
There are lots of apples on the trees.
They have a lot of money.
There are a lot of carrots but there aren't many potatoes.
Uncountable Nouns
There's some milk in the fridge.
There isn't any coffee.
Is there any sugar?
How much orange juice is there?
There is a lot of snow on the road.
There's lots of juice but there isn't much water.

A count noun that denotes a group of individuals (e.g. assembly, family, crew ).
