Committee Descriptions

Communications: Maintains group e-mail list and facilitates communication among members, the including website and newsletter.

Social Media: Maintain a positive PWSLA presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Intellectual Freedom and Advocacy: Keeps members informed about issues of interest to PWSLA gathered from, but not limited, to: PWEA, local school boards, VAASL Legislative Chair and ALA advocacy and legislation issues.

Membership: Coordinates with the Programs and Social Chair to create and manage a yearly membership drive. The membership drive should begin in August. Prepares membership forms and arranges for collection of dues. Works on yearly member directory. Coordinates election of officers.

Program and Social: Coordinates with the Membership Chair to create and manage a yearly membership drive. The membership drive should begin in August. Arranges for speakers and facilities for meetings. Organizes and plans social events. Organizes a banquet to be held near the end of each school year. All programs will be discussed and approved by the Board of Directors.

Scholarship: Coordinates the committee. Provides the Board of Directors with the top candidates for review. The Board of Directors shall determine the total monies allocated for scholarship disbursement.

VAASL: Represents PWSLA as the liaison to VAASL.
