During the fall, the PTO organizes our main fundraiser, Race for Education.
Families provide addresses for family and friends. Mailers are created and mailed out, asking for donations. Students walk and/or run for an hour around the track at Plover Whiting.
In the month of December, students are given the opportunity to bring in money and shop an assortment of inexpensive items for their family members.
PTO purchases items throughout the year for this event. This event is then set up, run and tore down by PTO volunteers.
During conference days, we support our staff by providing pot luck meals. Keep an eye out for more information as these days get closer.
Amazon Smile
If you order from Amazon already and don’t already use Amazon Smile, head to smile.amazon.com and designate Plover-Whiting PTO as your charity. A portion of all of your purchases goes directly to the PTO to be used for the school with no extra expense to you.
BoxTops
This has moved online. You need to scan your receipt with eligible purchases. If the app doesn’t pick up your item, send a note and let them know what they missed. Box Tops is great at still giving you the credit.
MyHuterra
This is an app you can download and scan your receipts (it only needs the store name, date and total, you can fold up your purchases in the middle). A portion of your purchases from local grocery stores and gas stations go to our school (designate: Plover-Whiting PTO) – Walmart, MetroMarket, Copps, BP, Mobil and many more are available
