The main (and often only) fundraiser for the PTO for the year.
October 15 (rain Date October 16)
9:00- 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade
10:00- 4K, Kindergarten and 1st grade
1:30- 5th and 6th grade
How Does it Work?
Before Race Day:
Students will bring home address labels to be filled out by parents with potential donor addresses (family, friends, businesses)
PTO volunteers send a letter to each address with donation information, and an explanation of the Race
Donors can donate funds for the race, whether through the PTO Paypal, or by mailing a check to the school marked with PTO Race for Education
Race Day:
Students will each spend 1 hour, by grade level, running around the track and into the woods, and tracking how many laps they made. Students are provided snacks and water and have so much fun! Spectators are welcome to join and cheer on our runners!
After Race Day:
The goal this year is $20,000, if that goal is reached, this will be the only fundraiser this year. The PTO uses this money to help the school in many ways, including: Playground equipment, learning programs such as IXL, schoolwide movie license, field trips, PTO community events, and much more! At the December meeting, funding requests will be discussed to determine what the PTO will fund this year.
