Mu Alpha Theta accepts new members during the second quarter of each school year. To qualify for membership, students
Must be currently enrolled in a Pre-Calculus or higher math class through Peninsula High School (no non-PVPHS courses).
Note: Computer science does not qualify as a math class.
Have taken at least one math class every semester (grades 9 to 12) through Peninsula High School (no non-PVPHS courses) *
Earned all A’s (at least B’s for honors and AP) in all semesters of high school math courses through Peninsula High School (no non-PVPHS courses) *
Have always exhibited integrity at PVPHS.
Membership in this organization is non-mandatory and non-compulsory.
* Transfer students may satisfy (2) and (3) through math courses taken at their previous high school.
New members are inducted after first-quarter grades are posted each year.
Fill out the required online form.
Fill out the Candidate Information Packet found in the online form. Follow ALL directions completely!! Late or incomplete candidate information packets will be denied membership – this includes not following all directions (below).
Be sure to write your graduation year on top of each page of the Candidate Information Packet.
Include a copy of your unofficial transcript. It MUST be from the counseling office and you MUST highlight your math classes and corresponding grades.
NOTE: Your first-quarter grade is not required on your Unofficial Transcript, but you must have proof of a grade from a Peninsula math class to apply.
All new members need to bring an unofficial transcript and MUST bring a completed Grade Verification Form (included in the Candiate Information Packet).
Submit the Candidate Information Packet, your unofficial transcript, and a $30 check (payable to "PVPHS-Mu Alpha Theta") to S50 during lunch on the Collection Days.*

Membership certificates will be distributed in March. Graduation Cords will be distributed at the Honor Societies ceremony in May. Graduating seniors are responsible for submitting verification of their eligibility after 3rd quarter grades are posted.
